Ontario County is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Commissioner of Public Works position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (as determined by the Ontario County Administrator):
SPECIAL NOTE: EDUCATION: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm. You must pay the required evaluation fee.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: In accordance with NYS Public Officers Law Article 2, Section 3, the appointee must be a resident of Ontario County.
Note: Pursuant to Local Law # 5 of 1999, the Commissioner of Public Works shall be appointed to a four-year term.
Salary: $143,045/yr with comprehensive benefits package including paid holidays, paid leave, 3% match to deferred compensation, full health and dental insurance, wellness program, EAP, professional development training, and NYS Retirement pension.

Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Engineering related field and six (6) years of full-time paid, or its part time equivalent, satisfactory experience in civil engineering, project management, or public works field, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory and budgetary role; OR
B.
